FG can't meet asuu demands -okonjo iweala. Hopes of quick resolution of the present face-off between the Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities were dashed on Tuesday as the Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, said the government has no resources to meet the union demands. Foreclosing possible truce to the five-week old industrial action that has paralysed academic activities in the nation’s ivory towers, Okonjo-Iwela said the striking university lecturers were asking for #92 billion in extra allowances, maintaining that government lack means of picking the bill.Speaking in Minna at the annual National Council on Finance and Economic Development meeting, the minister said that ASUU demand was coming at a time government was making efforts at reducing the structure of public expenditures.The theme of the meeting is:“Restructuring Nigeria’s Finances.”She said, “At present ASUU wants the government to pay N92 billion in extra allowances when resources are not there and when we are working to integrate past increases in pensions.We need to make choices in this country as we are getting to the stage where recurrent expenditures take the bulk of our resources and people get paid but can do no work.”

I am very happy I played that part.You have not produced any movie in recent timesThe last movie I produced was last year and it even won an award. It was premiered in Canada at the Toronto film festivals. The market is not really encouraging now. That is why most producers are really calming down to see the outcome of this piracy issue. That is why most people are not doing movies now.Are you saying you didn't make enough from your last movie?We didn't make what we expected because of piracy. However, the movie sold. It won the best movie award at last year's Yoruba Movies Academy Awards. It was also screened at the Africa Movies Academy Awards.But it wasn't nominated in any category.I don't know what happened. As far as I know, it was well shot. It had good picture quality.Will you say your father's name has opened a lot of doors for you?I'll say yes. Let's take for instance my state, Ekiti State. Most things they call my father to do, because he is old and cannot be travelling up and down, they call me to do them. I even remember the first time I went to the German Embassy for a visa. Getting the visa was very quick because the lady that attended to me knew who my father was. I got the visa. I am proud to be associated with him as somebody I can call my father. There are so many legends out there, yet their children are not proud of them.

Over 4000 volts entered Champion's body and instantly stopped his heart (an electric chair uses about 2000 volts).His safety harness prevented a fall, and Thompson, who had been ascending below him, quickly reached him and performed mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. He was unable to perform CPR given the circumstances, but continued breathing into Champion's lungs until he felt a slight pulse, then unbuckled his harness and descended with him on his shoulder.Thompson and another worker administered CPR on the ground, and Champion was moderately revived by the time paramedics arrived.

I don't produce more than one or two movies a year and I do a lot of pre-production planning before going on set. That removes all the challenges. After that, when I saw her in 'Mortal Inheritance,' I fell in love with her as a person because she gave a perfect interpretation to the character. ""Back stage at the Rothmans Groove tour which held @ TBS in 1998, there I was seated with the likes of The Plantashun Boiz,Dr. Fresh,Remedies and more...I was just a young boy trying to weigh his options on what direction to go with his career as drumming,rapping,producing and comedy were few of my options.That night was the 1st time I met Tony Tetuila, one of those humble guys you come by,he was warm and accommodating considering the obvious fact that I was nobody in the industry.Fast forward a few months later, Comedy had won me over and in the course of my hustle and journey to where I'm yet to get to, I bumped into Tetuila in Festac, just about the time his single 'you don hit my car' came out.We reconnected while playing catch up. We had common friends so 'bumping' into each other became a tradition. The 1st time he saw me perform @ a concert was at a gig The Plantashun Boiz used to host @ the Den in Ikeja.I must have impressed him because not long after that night, I got a call from him asking that we meet up. We did and he took me for a meeting in Lagos Island (Shell Office). A director at Shell was retiring and a send-forth party was being held in his honour. My performance fee then was N10,000, Tony pushed it up and convinced the client to pay N30,000 which they paid cash. Prior to this, they had never heard of me and only used me because Tony believed in me and stood up for me, convincing them to buy in.I was paid in full a week to the show.After picking up the cash I went straight home. In the early 2000s, he met with former partner Presh (Precious John) in a church choir. They met up with a third member, named the group KC Presh and released their first single 'Ose baba', shot a video for it, receiving mild success.Partying ways with the third member in 2002, the duo entered the first ever edition of Nigerian Breweries STAR QUEST talent show and won beating the likes of Asa, Psquare, Klint da Drunk, Mr Raw (formerly known as Nigga Raw).
