FG can't meet asuu demands -okonjo iweala. Hopes of quick resolution of the present face-off between the Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities were dashed on Tuesday as the Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, said the government has no resources to meet the union demands. ‬‪Foreclosing possible truce to the five-week old industrial action that has paralysed academic activities in the nation’s ivory towers, Okonjo-Iwela said the striking university lecturers were asking for #92 billion in extra allowances, maintaining that government lack means of picking the bill.‬‪Speaking in Minna at the annual National Council on Finance and Economic Development meeting, the minister said that ASUU demand was coming at a time government was making efforts at reducing the structure of public expenditures. The theme of the meeting is:‬‪“Restructuring Nigeria’s Finances.”She said, “At present ASUU wants the government to pay N92 billion in extra allowances when resources are not there and when we are working to integrate past increases in pensions.‬‪We need to make choices in this country as we are getting to the stage where recurrent expenditures take the bulk of our resources and people get paid but can do no work.”‬‪

• Actress Fathia Balogun's Involvement In My Crashed Marriage –Moji Olaiya Speaks. A lot has been said about the alleged involvement of divorced actress, Fathia Balogun, in the issues that led to the crashed of actress Moji Olaiya's marriage. Now Moji herself opened up on the issues... The popular actress, in a chat with 'Nonye Ben-Nwankwo of Punch, about her career and why she walked out of her troubled marriage. Excerpt:You are in a soon to be released soap, Glass House. How did it come about?A producer we call Jerry (Isichei) produced it. I am a major cast in the series. Most people know you as a Yoruba actress, but you are now featuring in an English series. But this is not my first job in English. Don't forget that I came to the limelight through Super Story and which of course, was in English. I am also in Nowhere to be Found, which is another popular soap.We learnt that you played the role of an illiterate woman in Glass HouseYes, and it was very challenging. I got married to a bank chairman in the series and I am also a publisher. I played 'Moji' even in the series. The character is just a very funny person. I must tell you the soap is very interesting. I am very happy I played that part. You have not produced any movie in recent timesThe last movie I produced was last year and it even won an award. It was premiered in Canada at the Toronto film festivals. The market is not really encouraging now. That is why most producers are really calming down to see the outcome of this piracy issue. That is why most people are not doing movies now.Are you saying you didn't make enough from your last movie? We didn't make what we expected because of piracy. However, the movie sold. It won the best movie award at last year's Yoruba Movies Academy Awards. It was also screened at the Africa Movies Academy Awards. But it wasn't nominated in any category.I don't know what happened. As far as I know, it was well shot. It had good picture quality. Will you say your father's name has opened a lot of doors for you?I'll say yes. Let's take for instance my state, Ekiti State. Most things they call my father to do, because he is old and cannot be travelling up and down, they call me to do them. I even remember the first time I went to the German Embassy for a visa. Getting the visa was very quick because the lady that attended to me knew who my father was. I got the visa. I am proud to be associated with him as somebody I can call my father. There are so many legends out there, yet their children are not proud of them.

GIST-the kiss of life by Rocco morabito. This 1967 award-winning photo entitled "Kiss of Life" shows two power linemen, Randall Champion and J. D. Thompson, at the top of a utility pole. They had been performing routine maintenance when Champion brushed one of the high voltage lines at the very top. These are the lines that can be heard "singing" with electricity. Over 4000 volts entered Champion's body and instantly stopped his heart (an electric chair uses about 2000 volts). His safety harness prevented a fall, and Thompson, who had been ascending below him, quickly reached him and performed mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. He was unable to perform CPR given the circumstances, but continued breathing into Champion's lungs until he felt a slight pulse, then unbuckled his harness and descended with him on his shoulder.Thompson and another worker administered CPR on the ground, and Champion was moderately revived by the time paramedics arrived.

BBA "2shotz used to beat me"-beverly osu. I know Beverly lies a lot but I know this is not a lie. This is how Beverly Osu narrated her ordeal on BBA while dating Rapper 2shotz in real life:She tells the story of how her fiance used to beat, bully, maltreat her and act as Adolf Hitler on her head.I'm a guy but this is terrible, the sad thing is that women still stay with these goats that call themselves men.She even pulled her shirt up to show a scar while he was beating her in the bathroom. According to her, she dropped out of school, her friends were graduating, her mom did not want to see her. She was going through a lot and wanted some time alone, even away from her fiance. So on this fateful day, the domineering Hitler called her to find out where she was. To cut the long story short, when he saw her, from questioning her like Jack Bauer led to beating, attempting to escape the beating she ran to bathroom and locked the door after herself, but these guy still broke the door just to continue the beating.I get that she might have added jara, but I can vouch that she was maltreated. He even forced her to have an abortion. I know this might sound like a myth, as I have always believed that having an abortion is the woman's choice. But it's just saddening that women still stay in such relationships with all the pain. All I can say is that that her fiance (which I know is 2shotz) is disgrace to Nigerian men, esp Igbo men. After he got married to someone else he was still texting her, that should go out together.I want to say a big shout out to Men that men that treat their wives well, like an angel which they are, God will make you bigger. Shout to women that don't take bullshit from domineering men. God bless you

MUST READ-see the big change that is coming to facebook. Facebook is about to take its most intrusive advertising to a new medium – video – and it could be the most annoying yet.Un-skippable Facebook video ads might seem like the greatest innovation in decades for major marketers, who have been coping with diminishing and fragmented television audiences for decades. Facebook says 88 million to 100 million people are on the service during primetime TV hours, almost as many people who watched this year's Super Bowl. But users might revolt; it's happened before, many times before. After all, people are flocking to social networks to see cute pictures and silly posts from friends and family, not to sit through ads for pickup trucks, allergy pills and fast food.Angry users could revive the "Quit Facebook Day" protest from 2011, when a change in privacy settings sparked criticism. But the organizers' website ended up with only 40,620 "committed Facebook quitters," a drop in the bucket for the huge social network.
